of Nationalities for a Federal Iran” (CNFI) meets with MEPs
between 8 and 10 May 2006.
On 8 May, the CNFI delegation, accompanied by UNPO General

meetings with MEPs to inform and highlight matters of concern
to the various nationalities in Iran regarding the current
human rights situation. This included a meeting with Mr Graham
Watson (ALDE).
Additional meetings have been scheduled with MEPs Mr Struan
Stevenson (Christian Democrats), Mr Simon Coveney (Christian
Democrats), Dr Ingo Friedrich (Christian Democrats), Ms Pia
Elda Locatelli (Socialist Group), Ms Christa Prets (Socialist
Group) and Mr Paulo Casaca (Socialist Group) and other EU

UNPO and the Transnational Radical Party will
jointly advocate for a resolution in the European Parliament to
protect the rights of minorities in Iran, advocating that due
consideration be given to the situation of the different
nationalities and minority groups in Iran and that their basic
human rights are respected and upheld.
